In the first month of 2025 we have already seen tech giants like NVIDIA proclaim Physical AI as the final frontier for AI, as well as several new innovations combining crypto and AI in the digital realm. It's now increasingly clear that the next great leap forward lies in crypto-anchored, AI-powered systems that can sense, interact with, and impact real world environments. However, the connection between the digital and physical worlds today is nascent and unreliable, acting as a bottleneck to AI innovation. This is where IoTeX and DePIN step in, offering an open yet adaptable framework for training and coordinating AI systems using verifiable, real world data from DePIN devices.

The evolution of AI to-date has primarily been driven by tech giants aggregating publicly available data that lives on the Internet, including text, numbers, audio, images, and videos. This has empowered AI systems that can understand the digital world and perform digital actions even better than humans; however, enabling AI systems that can interact with the physical world requires massive amounts of real-time, real world data that cannot be simply scraped from the Internet. DePIN, which incentivizes billions of people around the world to deploy physical devices, is the only viable approach to crowdsource real world data at the scale and velocity necessary to empower Physical AI. With DePIN as AI's multi-dimensional sensory organs, AI can finally evolve beyond digital inputs/responses and enter the physical world. AI agents will become sentient and produce real-time, context-driven insights, while Physical AI systems will be able to perceive, navigate, and deliver services in the real world even better than humans. The era of DePIN x AI is here, and it will be Powered by IoTeX.

IoTeX's work over the years has focused primarily on the "Sense" and "Verify", where ioID and W3bstream now enable crypto builders to connect real world devices to the blockchain and verify their real world activities using zero-knowledge proofs. In 2025, IoTeX will expand our modular infrastructure for DePINs and launch new infrastructure that will enable builders to innovate across the "Train" -> "Model" -> "Automate" stages of the DePIN value chain. This will enable a new wave of agentic applications that combine real-world data with advanced AI capabilities.

In fact, IoTeX has hit the ground running already in 2025 with the beta launch of QuickSilver (evolved from W3bstream), an open-source framework that bridges the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) with DePINs to create advanced AI applications like BinoAI. By leveraging DePIN devices as the "eyes and ears of AI", Quicksilver enables AI applications gather real-time data, respond contextually, and interact with the physical world. We aim to launch QuickSilver Testnet in Q1 2025, DePIN and AI builders alike will be able to use QuickSilver to bridge the existing DePIN world with the budding AI world and create a new wave of sentient AI applications. Projects powered by QuickSilver will be able to launch their tokens seamlessly across Solana, Ethereum, and IoTeX L1, with native integration into depinscan.io.

As the concept of a U.S. Bitcoin Reserve gains traction, we believe it's time for every crypto protocol to establish its own strategic reserve, particularly in rapidly growing sectors like DePIN and AI, where long-term value creation depends on the careful management of key digital assets. Inspired by the national reserve model, we envision creating a DePIN + AI Assets Strategy Reserve, initially funded by BTC, to support and strengthen the decentralized ecosystem.

The reserve will act as a vault for valuable long-term tokens and assets, safeguarding them for the benefit of $IOTX holders. By establishing this reserve, we aim to ensure that the wealth generated by the DePIN and AI ecosystems is preserved and shared equitably, contributing to the continued growth and stability of the IoTeX network and the broader decentralized world.

• Initial BTC Reserve: The reserve will begin with Bitcoin. Subject to governance approval, the IoTeX Foundation plans to allocate a portion of $IOTX as collateral to stablecoin providers to acquire WBTC or cbBTC. These assets will be held in a smart contract-based reserve for long-term growth. An IIP proposal will be released soon for community discussion.
• High-conviction and Emerging DePIN and AI Assets: The reserve will curate a diversified portfolio of high-conviction DePIN and AI assets, including established players like Render (RNDR), Akash (AKT), and Helium (HNT), synthetic assets such like Nvidia (NVDA) and Google (GOOG) where possible, alongside promising emerging protocols such as GEOD, DIMO, Nubila, and Qualoo. This carefully selected portfolio combines blue-chip stability with high-growth potential, creating a robust foundation for long-term value appreciation.
• DAO-Driven Decision-Making: The reserve will be governed by DAO proposals, ensuring transparent decision-making around its management, allocation, and growth.
