IoTeX Hackathon India 2021 - Join now and change the world!
To bring decentralized IoT-generated data into reality, IoTeX has partnered with Lumos Labs, an innovation lab, to launch their very first hackathon in India- IoTeX Hackathon India 2021.
This Hackathon offers an opportunity for Indian developers to disrupt the world of data monopolies
“Data is the new oil”
You may have heard this phrase in the last couple of years, but have you ever thought about who these oil merchants are? The oil merchants are all those centralized systems, including tech giants like Amazon and Google, who have access to your data, from your videos to your photos. But where do they get all this data?
A large portion of data comes from IoT devices. From your smart TV to your fitness tracker, they all collect your data on a consistent basis. All your private data can be accessed by these companies and the possibility of a data breach is always imminent.
Here’s your chance to come up with a solution to a problem which is critical to every person around the world.
“The IoTeX blockchain platform is designed to connect these types of smart devices to decentralized applications. This would enable users to be in full control of their devices and data. According to the IoTeX website, there are currently over thousands of devices using its blockchain,” - Nasdaq. com

To bring decentralized IoT-generated data into reality, IoTeX has partnered with Lumos Labs, an innovation lab, to launch their very first hackathon in India- IoTeX Hackathon India 2021.
This hackathon invites people to envision and then build a world where users have control over their own data. To create a world where their data is not controlled by a single entity but where a user regains their power and trust. That power and trust has been betrayed by so many instances of data breaches.
“We are going full speed towards our vision – build the decentralized network to power billions of devices + machines at scale,” - Raullen Chai, CEO, and Co-founder of IoTeX.

Track of Hackathon
- Use data as a trigger: If-This-Then-That (IFTTT)
Use data to kick off a workflow - provide an AR experience, mint an NFT, or create a one-of-a-kind innovation unlike anything seen before
Calculate & settle payments - Service level agreements (SLAs) + insurance
Notification system - Use data to trigger a message to one or more parties
Geo-caching - users unlock a unique challenge based on their location
2. Data as a service
Prediction markets
Verifiable Random Numbers (VRN)
2P Data Marketplace (S3 authorization framework)
3. Pool Data from Pebble Trackers
Games - step counters, fastest delivery, carbon footprint impact
The distributed consensus of real-world facts like "data LPs" with fractional ownership
Temperature index of a region
Air quality map of your university
Proof of Interaction - verifying location. For instance, confirming proximity to a point of interest or to another Pebble Tracker.
“Collaboration is the key to excellence in today’s market. Unsurprisingly, this coincides with the Decentralisation thought process running in the industry. The IoTeX cross-chain will bring real world benefits to the ever-growing digital world, and make NFTs more relevant to this novel philosophy,” Sandeep Nailwal, Polygon COO & Co-founder

Still not sure whether to participate in this Hackathon?
There’s a saying, “Opportunities are missed in the blink of an eye and the regrets are for a lifetime.”
“On IoTeX, you can complete 5,000 transactions for just $1 USD. To give you a snapshot of how cheap that is, you can travel on the metro twice a day, every day and if each transaction is recorded on the IoTeX blockchain, it will take you 6.6 years to use up just 1 dollar! That’s a game-changer,” - BTCmanager
