It's a Wrap: Get GOATed Season 2 in Numbers and What's Next for the Community

The "Get Goated" Season 2 campaign has officially ended. Spanning from October 12th to January 29th, 2025, the campaign built on the success of Season 1 and expanded significantly, involving 20 Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) projects and 10 DeFi partners. With participation from over 1.7 million individuals across 15 countries, the campaign achieved remarkable global reach.

In this blog, we’ll celebrate the highlights and metrics of GGS2, dive into the impressive numbers behind its success, and guide all participants through the next steps—including how to claim the rewards they’ve worked hard to earn.

By the Numbers

Season 2 of "Get Goated" witnessed an extraordinary increase in engagement across the board. Social presence expanded dramatically, with Galxe followers surging to 114,930, reflecting a growth of 1,083% since the last campaign. The Galxe page itself garnered over 11.2 million views, a staggering 231,623% increase. Total campaign participation reached 1.7 million, marking a growth of 1,335%.

On Discord, the IoTeX community swelled to 71,078 members—a 721% jump. On X (formerly Twitter), the IoTeX account hit 345,400 followers, underscoring the continued interest in the ecosystem.

From a technical perspective, IoTeX recorded an average of 384,300 daily transactions during this campaign. Total fees accrued on the IoTeX Network rose dramatically, driven by a notable increase in gas fees of almost 200%, with DEX activity contributing to a good chunk of these.

Participation spanned the globe, with South Korea leading the charge at close to 2M participants, closely followed by Vietnam and Bangladesh with almost 1M. Hivello led the campaign’s project participation numbers with over 75K participants, bringing in a significant share of users, followed by standout contributions from Neova, Geodnet, enviroBLOQ and many others. Each of these projects showcased the diversity and appeal of IoTeX’s ecosystem, creating an energetic and highly engaged community throughout the campaign. Significant contributions also came from Japan, India, the United States, Nigeria, and China, among others.

Spotlight on DePIN Engagement

A cornerstone of "Get Goated" was its focus on DePIN and their intersection with DeFi. By integrating DeFi elements, the campaign aimed to showcase how DePIN projects can leverage financial incentives to drive real-world utility. The collaboration extended to a diverse set of projects, ranging from Hivello’s aggregator, to Geodnet's RTK network, Nubila's ESG data, and much more.

IoTeX tasks alone attracted 1.12 million participants, highlighting the ecosystem’s capacity for engagement at scale. Projects like XPIN Network, Scannit, and Nubila demonstrated consistent growth during the campaign, further validating the role of DePIN in driving decentralized infrastructure adoption. The introduction of DeFi incentives provided an additional layer of engagement, allowing participants to interact with projects in a more integrated and rewarding manner.

What’s Next for the Community

As "Get Goated" Season 2 wraps up, the next chapter begins with the distribution of fun—earned rewards. Starting in the second half of February, IoTeX will distribute 100 million $IOTX rewards to all eligible participants. Following this, tokens from participating projects that have already undergone their token generation events (TGEs)—including Geodnet, DEGN, Network3, Drop Wireless, and UpRock—will be distributed on a monthly vesting schedule. For projects like Hivello, Roam, enviroBLOQ, and Qualoo, and the others who are gearing up for their TGEs, participants can expect updates as soon as their tokens become available.

One of the coolest aspects of this campaign is its inclusion of projects spanning various ecosystems, such as Polygon, Solana, Hyperliquid, and more. Despite this diversity, all rewards will be distributed on the IoTeX network, ensuring a seamless and unified experience for participants.

This blog provides a high-level overview, but don’t worry—before the $IOTX distribution kicks off in the second half of February, we’ll share a detailed step-by-step guide to walk you through the claiming process. A dedicated landing page will also be made available, where all participants can easily claim their rewards. The guide and page will have everything you need for a seamless experience. Beyond  Season 2 and TGEs

The conclusion of "Get Goated" Season 2 doesn’t mean the end of the journey. As more DePIN projects approach their TGEs, IoTeX remains committed to keeping the community engaged and informed. Projects like Hivello, Roam, enviroBLOQ, Qualoo, Scannit, Nubila, Functionland and others are gearing up for their next milestones, and we’re here to help blast their progress to the forefront.

Whether it’s through new quests, opportunities to learn about the unique value propositions of these projects, or fresh campaigns to involve the community, there are so many possibilities. Season 2 showcased projects from practically every vertical: from Hivello’s aggregator to Geodnet's RTK network, Nubila's ESG data, Scannit's user financial data, internet mapping with Qualoo, decentralized storage with Functionland, decentralized cloud with Neova, mobile bandwidth with UpRock, connectivity with Roam, DEGN’s multifunctional DePIN wallet and trading node, and home data with enviroBLOQ—and that’s just scratching the surface.
